Gregg Rogers
AREA COORDINATOR

Gregg began his elevator career in 1974 in Local 33, Des Moines, with Otis Elevator Company. He worked his first six years on construction and repair. Gregg passed the NEIEP mechanics exam in 1979. His early years were spent working in construction for Chenoweth Kern Elevator Company that was purchased by Montgomery Elevator Company. Gregg accepted a service route in Rock Island, Illinois, Local 46, for O'Keefe Elevator Company in 1980. In 1984 Gregg moved back to Des Moines, and joined Montgomery Elevator Company. He worked on a service route for them for ten years. The members of Local 33 elected Gregg as a trustee and then as a member of the Executive Board, serving as Chairman of that board for two years.

In 1994 Gregg became the Business Manager for Local 33 and served in that position until December of 1999. While in that position Gregg served on the Executive Board of the Central Iowa Building Trades Council and the Executive Board of the East River Building Trades of South Dakota. He also served on the Board of Directors of Unicon, a joint Labor-Management Board. Gregg was a member of the Executive Board for the South Central Iowa Federation of Labor. In January of 2000 the Elevator Industry Work Preservation Fund hired Gregg as an Area Coordinator. Gregg is an OSHA approved instructor for the OSHA 10-Hour Safety Course.
