The following classes are primarily intended for elevator journeymen & inspectors. Attendance is verified by a detailed participation report generated by WebEx. Attendees will receive certificates of completion & copies of the presentation in PDF format following the completion of the course. Each course is 4 hours & provides NAESA & EIWPF certified inspectors with .4 CEUs to apply to their annual QEI renewal.

Feb. 3 & May 12, 2012 - ASME A17.1/CSA B44 Part 7, Dumbwaiters & Material Lifts.
  Attendees need a clearer understaning as to how this section relates to these devices & the differences between these devices. Code requirements will be the focus of the presentation.
Feb. 4 & May 11, 2012 - ASME A17.3 - 2011 Safety Code for Existing Elevators and Escalators.
  An in depth review of this standard & a discussion of when to apply & how it relates to alterations of existing equipment.
June 15 & August 25, 2012 - ASME A17.1/B44 Sections 8.1, Security; & 8.6 Maintenance, Repair, Replacement, and Testing.
  Code requirements of Section 8.1-Security & how it pertains to new and existing elevators. Discussion on Section 8.6 will focus on the requirements for maintaining, repairing, parts replacement, & testing of elevator & escalator equipment. It will also illustrate the difference between replacements & alterations.
June 16 & August 24, 2012 - ASME A17.1/B44 Sections 8.7, Alterations.
  Discussion on the proper application of the requirements in this section of the code & what is required when certain elements of elevator & escalator equipment are altered.
Oct. 26 & Dec. 8, 2012 - Elevator Industry Field Employees Safety Handbook (EIFESHB) & NFPA 70E, Standard of Electrical Safety in the Workplace.
  An in depth look at the safety handbook as it relates to elevator inspection activity. Review of NFPA 70E & the proper procedure for electrical safety.
Oct. 27 & Dec. 7, 2012 - ASME A17.1/CSA B44 Part 6, Escalators & Moving Walks.
  Discussion on the code requirements for escalators & moving walks, step skirt indexing requirements & a review of some older code requirements for escalators & moving walks.
