Scott is a first-generation Elevator Constructor from the International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC) Local 32 in Atlanta, GA. He is from a union family, his father an IBEW electrician, his step father President of the Typographical Union in Atlanta and his two brothers are IUEC Mechanics.
Scott began his career with U.S. Elevator in 1984. He completed the National Elevator Industry Education Program and passed the Mechanics Exam in 1988. He worked as a Service Mechanic until 1995, when he left the elevator industry to start and run his own businesses. Scott returned to work as an IUEC Service Mechanic for Otis and Schindler Elevator Companies.
In 2012, Scott was appointed as Business Representative of IUEC Local 32. Scott served as Business Representative until 2014 when he was appointed/elected as Business Manager of IUEC Local 32 and represented Local 32 as a delegate at the 30th and 31st IUEC General Conventions.
During his tenure as Business Manager, Scott served as President of the North Georgia Building and Construction Trades Council. Scott was appointed by the Governor of Georgia to serve on the Georgia Elevator and Escalator Safety Board and Worksource Georgia Cobb County, representing Labor on both Boards. In 2017 Scott was appointed as an IUEC Vice President.
Scott served as the Local 32 Business Manager and IUEC Vice President until December 2018 when he was appointed as an EIWPF National Coordinator.
Scott married his high school sweetheart in 1985, he and his family live in Georgia.
