Richard Sargent II

Richard is a proud member and advocate of the International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC). With extensive experience spanning all aspects of the industry, he began his journey in union leadership as the Financial Secretary Treasurer, diligently managing the locals’ finances and ensuring transparency in all transactions. Progressing to the role of Business Manager of Local 12, Richard focused on fostering a safe and productive work environment while nurturing relationships with members and signatory employers.

Additionally, Richard served as Sergeant at Arms with the Greater Kansas City Building Trades Council, becoming deeply involved in advocating for workers’ rights and shaping model legislation in Kansas and Missouri to support our industry.

Currently serving as a National Coordinator for the Elevator Industry Work Preservation Fund, Richard is deeply committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, productivity, and fairness in the profession. In addition to his role, he also works as an instructor for the Qualified Elevator Inspector Training Fund, ensuring comprehensive training and skill development among current and future inspectors. Through collaborative efforts and advocacy, Richard continues to champion the interests of elevator constructors while cultivating strong industry relationships.
